Julia and Spencer were married on July 13, 2019 at the historic Mountain View Grand Resort in Whitefield, NH, one of the grand hotels of the White Mountains. Their wedding day was beautifully planned by Melanie at Blissful Beginnings, and even the weather was on point for their special day.
I first met Julia when she was a bridesmaid in her friend Kathryn’s wedding 2 years ago at Josias River Farm. It was such an honor to be asked to photograph her wedding as well! I began my day in the Presidential Suite with Julia as she got ready with her mom and some family members. The vibe was calm and collected, and of course the room was large and full of beautiful natural light and neutral colors that made it easy to place her dress, invitations, and accessories for photos.
Meanwhile, Spencer was getting ready in a room nearby and he was surprised with his wedding gift from Julia (a videographer!) at the same time that Julia was opening her gift from Spencer.
Then, it was off for a quick first look and some portraits. The whole front side of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous, and the re is any option you want for a photo location. The porch is such an iconic New Hampshire location that is not to be missed. Julia looked so elegant in her Mikaella sheath dress–she is so tall and slim and absolutely gorgeous!
We rolled right into the first half of immediate family portraits, and then the couple was tucked away for a few minutes before the ceremony started.

The ceremony took place in the beautiful Grand View Garden, just behind the Crystal Ballroom and overlooking the gorgeous mountains. The fence and gardens gave it privacy from the rest of the grounds of the hotel.
After wrapping up the remaining extended family photos after the ceremony, the couple was free to enjoy the rest of cocktail hour which is always fun.
Crystal Ballroom Reception
The Crystal Ballroom was decorated to perfection with baby blue tablecloths and elegant table settings. Amazing centerpieces by Flora Fauna brought the whole room to life, with alternating towering vases on some tables, and lower arrangments on others.
Julia and Spencer’s reception was such a happy event with so much love surrounding the two of them. The evening was hosted by the amazing band Hot Mess, and they were so fantastic and entertaining for every moment of the reception. With lovely first dances, toasts, parent dances and dinner done first, the night then rolled into an epic party. It was so much fun to document all of these moments!
