Amy and Mike were married on July 17th, 2021 at The Wentworth Inn in Jackson, NH. Or rather, they were married again since getting legally married last year. Like so many of my couples, their original 2020 wedding date had to be postponed, and they didn’t want to wait! It was a long-awaited event to finally be able to celebrate with family and friends.
The ladies had a wonderful time getting ready in the main part of the beautiful Wentworth Inn.
Heading out for the first look and formal portraits, unfortunately it was raining a bit, but we were able to work around it by placing people under the canopy of trees, and the beautiful porch at The Wentworth. July of 2021 was the rainiest July in recorded history in New Hampshire, and it certainly made my weddings that month a bit more challenging. Thankfully everyone remained flexible and cheerful and it all worked out.
Wentworth Inn Ceremony
Even though the day started out rainy, it was something of a miracle that by the time the ceremony started, the raindrops paused just long enough for the guests to enjoy the outdoor ceremony. The ceremony was just across the street from The Wentworth, in a leafy green alcove overlooking the river.
Immediately after the ceremony, we walked with Amy and Mike just up the road to Jackson Falls to take some fantastic scenic photos in the river. Families splashing in the river were nice enough to give us a little space so that it looked like Amy and Mike had the whole place to themselves!
The Tented Reception at Wentworth Inn
After an indoor cocktail hour because it started pouring again, Amy and Mike’s reception at The Wentworth Inn was held in the impressive tent outdoors. The fabric-draped ceiling was absolutely stunning and elegant. I loved the simple and pretty centerpieces from Dutch Bloemen Winkel.
The reception was full of beautiful memories, including Amy and Mike’s first dance. They performed a choreographed number which had everyone watching open-mouthed and cheering!
A round of heartfelt speeches and toasts followed the dancing. It is clear that Amy and Mike are absolutely adored by their family and friends.
Finally, the rest of the night featured a high-energy performance from the live band Sugarbabies! They kept the dance floor full all evening and everyone had such a blast.
Thank you, Amy and Mike, for having Christine and I along for your very special day! I’m so happy that this day finally had its turn after such a long delay.
