Karen and Ryan and I met in early November to chat about their fall 2014 New Hampshire wedding, and we hit it off right away. They booked their wedding with me, and within a couple of weeks we dived right in with their engagement session! They invited me down to their hometown because they wanted to use Davis Square was the backdrop for their engagement photos. I loooove this type of thing, because it’s so personal to the couple, being in their own comfortable environment. Walking around a city also provides so many unexpected opportunities for great shots. You really never know what you’re going to get, with changes in the weather, time of day, quality of light. In this case we were shooting on a very sunny morning, which offers its own rewards and challenges. I think this set of photos really reflects them as a couple in their own space, a couple who loves to hang out in Davis Square and people watch while drinking beer, playing trivia, going out to eat and seeing movies and shows….. a vibrant neighborhood with lots of personal memories.
After Davis Square, we rode over to Prospect Hill Park near Union Square and took advantage of the incredible views of Boston, and the dramatic background of the “Castle.” I love how they brought pumpkins painted with their wedding date to incorporate into their photos. The options for Save the Date cards will be fun for them to explore!
Thanks for a great time, Karen and Ryan! Can’t wait for your wedding next year. 🙂
