It was an absolute pleasure to photograph a recent wedding at Dexter’s Inn in Sunapee, NH. My couple wishes to remain anonymous and not have their photos shared, but I’m able to share non personal photos of the day. Dexter’s Inn is a real gem in Sunapee, with views of Mt. Sunapee just off in the distance, beautiful landscaping, a historic farmhouse, acres of country living, and wonderful hospitality. I’m looking forward to returning here in the fall for another wedding!
the ceremony
Following a path into the woods, you willfind a beautiful old stone chapel built by the original owners of the property. This tiny church with tiny churchyard is surrounded by beautiful woodland plants and flowers, with white mountain laurel, ferns, and mayapples creating a magical shady woodland wonder.
The ceremony was one of the most personal and unique that I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. The chairs were arranged in concentric circles, with a scattering of rose petals in the center. There were multiple readings and songs during the ceremony, and for each person speaking, the bride and groom moved their position within the circle to face them. I had an excellent line of sight on every person which was beautiful to photograph.
Unfortunately I can’t share anyone’s faces and therefore none of the beautiful moments and emotion of the ceremony, but I can share this cute pup. 🙂 She was extremely well behaved for the entire 45-minute ceremony.
cocktail hour
After photos were completed, the guests all enjoyed a lovely cocktail hour and casual BBQ dinner on the beautiful patio. It was an amazing spring evening, and all of the guests relaxed, having come in from far away earlier in the day and checked into the Inn, some as far away as New York City and Boston. A full reception was taking place the following evening, but for this night they kept it casual and relaxing for all.
Farewell, Dexter’s! It will be great to be back again in the fall for another beautiful New Hampshire country wedding.
