Like so many 2020 wedding couples, Jennifer and Ryan found their original May wedding date to be completely impossible in the pandemic, and so after a tumultuous year of rescheduling, changes of venues and reduction in guest list, they finally were married at Buckley’s Great Steaks in Merrimack on November 21, 2020. The Dance Hall upstairs provided just enough space for this smaller gathering that was huge on love and laughter.
Getting Ready
I was so happy that Jen scheduled a bit of getting ready photos at a nearby hotel, because that gave me the opportunity to capture a few of those really special moments and details. The dress before it’s put on, the rings and jewelry, the merriment of all the girls getting ready together. Those are fun and fleeting moments that shouldn’t be missed.
In a nearby room, the guys helped Ryan look sharp, and they opened their groomsmen gifts. Then they were on their way to the restaurant!
The Ceremony
The ceremony at Buckley’s was held outside the main door in the tiny garden area in front of the gift shop. The barn provided a cute rustic background for their vows.
Portraits
We had time after the ceremony for all the traditional portraits, before heading upstairs to begin the wedding festivities. The grounds at Buckley’s are small but there are plenty of little areas for different kinds of portraits. Once an historic tavern and private home built in 1807, the building still looks the part of an old New England country home.
Reception in the Dance Hall
The upstairs room at Buckley’s is known as the Dance Hall, where Friday night dances were held in the early 1800s. The space was filled with Jennifer and Ryan’s friends and family, and they shared so many special wedding moments with toasts, dances, and a fantastic meal.
And finally, the photo that wraps up the whole year of 2020 and the constant shuffling and rearranging of plans. Love can’t wait!
