My clients are amazing people. They are smart, educated, and very well traveled. Often they like to incorporate their extensive travels into their weddings, and I’ve seen some really creative and beautiful ways to do this. Take a look.
Seating Chart:
Juline and Max used a huge world map mounted on the side of a barn to let guests know which table they were seated at. The map pointed to all the various places this couple had lived and traveled to as inspiration for their table names. I also loved the cute flag banner cut from maps.
Menu Choices:
Emma and Tommy met in the jungles of South America, and fell in love in the treetop forests of Ecuador. Their amazing how-we-met story formed the inspiration for their wedding at The Rocks Estate, which used hot Latin American colors of red, orange, and yellow in the flowers, and they also based their whole menu around Latin dishes, brought to life by Bailiwicks on Main in Littleton. Their menu featured a make-your-own paella station, salt crust chicken, plantains, salsa and guacamole, and of course lots of margaritas at cocktail hour.
Centerpieces:
Emily and Tyler spent three years exploring America’s National Parks, and wanted to extend those experiences to their guests at their wedding. For their Seacoast Science Center wedding, they designed all their tables around different parks, using these incredible vintage design mini-posters as table names. The casual, beachy themed floral pieces by Ambrosia Gardens brought the seaside look all together.
Guest Book:
Something as simple as a guest book can convey a love of travel at your wedding. Carolyn and Ben at Harrington Farm used this huge world map as their guest book, so that all their guests could sign their name on their brand new adventure in life together. This also becomes a wonderful art piece to hang on the wall in their new home, perfect for travel inspiration.
Design Motif:
Jenny and Pat had recently been to Peru and hiked the Inca Trail. At their wedding, they put a humorous touch on some of their decorations to reflect the llamas in Peru which tied in perfectly with the alpacas at West Mountain Inn. So cute!
So there you have it! Five beautiful and fun ways that you can incorporate your love of travel into your wedding. There are as many different ways to do this as there are destinations in the world. Enjoy making your wedding a reflection of who you are as a couple.
