Alanna and Scott were married on September 21, 2018 at the new Barn on the Pemi in Plymouth, NH. This amazing new venue expands on the lovely Greenhouse at the Italian Farmhouse which was already on the property, and adds an incredible re-built 19th century barn with a fascinating history. This gorgeous wedding was planned with exquisite attention to detail by Private Weddings & Events who I always enjoy working with. The theme for Alanna and Scott’s wedding was “an enchanted forest,” a whimsical woodland of greenery and magic, and you will see just how that vision was brought to life.
getting ready
Alanna and the girls got ready on site in the Carriage House, just steps away from the barn. I took advantage of the beautiful natural light out on the porch for the bridal details. Many times if the getting ready space is unfavorable due to artificial lighting or overwhelming paint colors, I will take everything outside to make sure things look their best.
Meanwhile, Scott and the guys were just five minutes down the road at the Common Man Inn & Spa, and the Common Man trolley easily connects the two sites with transportation.
the ceremony
The greenhouse at the Barn on the Pemi is one of my favorite sites ever, either for a ceremony or a reception. Everything is absolutely gorgeous when bathed in natural light, and of course being surrounded by plants and greenery is comforting and beautiful. Although the greenhouse never needs dressing up very much, they added additional flowers and greenery to make it lush and full.
The bridal party was absolutely gorgeous in lilac! This was a soft, toned-down version of the 2018 Pantone Color of the Year: Ultraviolet. This delicious color played beautifully into the enchanted forest theme with fairy tale whimsy.
Alanna’s dress and hair were both amazing. We did a few portraits with her veil on, and then she took it off to show off that stunning braid style. Her hair was everything.
the reception
The new barn is truly amazing, with all the original beams and boards, along with all the modern amenities and comforts. I absolutely loved Alanna and Scott’s whimsical Enchanted Forest theme. This was beautifully brought to life by Lotus Floral Designs and the planning of Private Weddings and Events. Lush greenery and fun table names from fairy tales, movies, and books made it seem welcoming and fun.
The evening started with some fun entrances by the bridal party, and Alanna and Scott went right into their choreographed first dance which was beautiful!
After toasts and dinner, the rest of the night was spent dancing and partying. The photo booth by Main Event was a big hit!
