Julia and JJ live in the Washington DC area, and fell in love while attending William and Mary College in Williamsburg. When it came time to plan their wedding, they chose Wolfeboro because her grandparents live there and she grew up spending time in the area. They were married on June 29, 2019 at Laughing Loon, a private residence with a sandy beach right on Lake Winnipesaukee. The location was perfect for a laid back, casual day that fulfilled their dream of an easy and beautiful wedding with friends and family enjoying themselves.

The girls got ready in one of the many guest cabins on the property, and when I arrived they were finishing up hair and makeup. The vibe was excited but easy going, and the girls were friendly and welcoming. Julia had beautiful details to photograph, and I loved how she even provided props like the gorgeous ribbon. So important!

Meanwhile, the guys were in the main house, relaxing and hanging out.

These two have such an amazing sense of humor! I was dying when I found out they were doing a surprise first look with one of the groomsmen to prank JJ and it was hilarious.

And for the second time, JJ was ready to see his bride for real. Julia was absolutely incredible in her Willowby by Watters gown. Stunning!  The property had lots of little nooks where we could do a few pre-ceremony portraits, even including their cute pup Penny, who was the ring bearer.

The rest of the evening was filled with so much love and merriment. Dancing in the sand under the tent was magical in the warm June night. The guests loved the amazing taco bar by Vida Cantina, and the DJ kept the evening going strong. Julia and her dad surprised JJ with a little song….. he played guitar while she sang with the voice of an angel. Finally, the evening dessert was not cake or cupcakes, but ice cream supplied by their favorite Wolfeboro scoop shop: Bailey’s Bubble!
