Morgan and Dave had me at hello! They were actually the very first couple to book with me for 2013, and as it turned out, their wedding was the very last on my calendar for the year, so I waited a very, very long time for this wedding. Right from the start Morgan let me know they were planning tons of geek stuff, and we chatted about how cool it would be to get their wedding featured on When Geeks Wed, or maybe OffBeat Bride. We shall definitely see about that! All their handmade DIY touches were so fun, colorful, and cute that I have no doubt this is one of the most original weddings I will shoot in a long time.
The pin on her gown was her something borrowed, and her shoes were undeniably something (Tardis) blue.
Achievement unlocked, indeed! This was a custom made aisle runner that could not have been more perfect….. it was even held down by golf tees to keep it from taking flight in the brisk wind.
Stunning late fall scenery with a gorgeous view of Mt. Monadnock in the distance…
How gorgeous are they? I just can’t even stand it. The light, the scenery, the bridge, was all serendipitous… I can’t even describe the haphazard, treacherous golf cart ride we had to embark on to find this location. I just wish I had a picture of me standing on the back, holding on! The best locations are, without a doubt, not easy to get to.
Morgan’s bouquet was AMAZEBALLS. The more I look at it, the more I am in awe. By Anderson The Florist, in Keene, NH.
The 4-tier wedding cake was a beauty created by Chickadee Hill Cakes. The blue and yellow pixels cascaded down the front, solidifying the 8-bit gamer theme, and of course the Han Solo & Leia cake topper was quite the conversation piece! Morgan handmade the topper, and customized it to look just like her and Dave. The cake itself was three different flavors in different tiers: Irish Car Bomb, Berries & Cream, and Apple Spice Cake. Delish.
Every centerpiece contained these gorgeous handmade comic book paper flowers that Morgan made, placed inside a frosted Mario Bros. flower pot, filled with twinkle lights and more brightly colored silk flowers.
Wedding favors were cute little boxes filled with chocolate Millenium Falcons and Daleks…. shown here is the Dalek. Exterminate!
Tardis photo booth!! It was a huge source of entertainment throughout the evening.
