Karen and Ryan were married on September 27, 2014 at the Mile Away Restaurant in Milford, NH. It was such a relaxed, fun day, with so many pretty details and memorable moments. Their families and friends were all so supportive and excited for them, and so great to work with…. I witnessed some of my favorite family moments to date!
Getting Ready at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua
The day began with some preparation photos at the hotel. Christine and I found Ryan ironing his shirt, which we later learned is something of a trademark of Ryan’s and even made its way into the wedding vows.
Ceremony and Reception at the Mile Away Restaurant
Arriving at the Mile Away a few precious minutes before the ceremony, we had a few moments to quickly photograph the beautiful tabletop decor in the reception tent at the Mile Away just before the guests started arriving. I loved how pretty the centerpieces were, with mason jars in various sizes wrapped in burlap and lace and filled with vintage style flowers of roses and hydrangeas in beautiful soft, muted blush pinks, peaches, and creams. The long burlap table runners had a sweet bird motif painted on them. With the backdrop of the Mile Away’s late summer lush gardens surrounding the tent, it was the perfect day (and perfect weather) for a garden wedding.
The Ceremony
One of my favorite things about Karen and Ryan’s wedding was the love between both of their families. It was clear these two families were meant to be joined together. After the ceremony, there was so much hugging and loving between their parents. And then, after dinner these folks danced the night away together.
Karen and Ryan wrote their own vows, and as someone who hears so many vows each year, I can honestly tell you that these vows were among the sweetest, most honest, funny, memorable vows I have ever heard. It was truly a delight to witness this marriage.
These delicious appetizers were waiting for the bridal party to enjoy immediately after the ceremony, while the guests moved into the tent for cocktail hour. Beautiful food and hospitality provided by the Mile Away.
