Marisa and Evan planned an amazing July 4th themed wedding with country fair touches, complete with the amazing Publick House Historic Inn in Sturbridge, Massachusetts as the backdrop. The heavy downpours that went on all day (thanks to Hurricane Arthur remnants) did not put a damper on the excitement of the whole day. Their ceremony was moved indoors, but everything else went perfectly according to plan, and everybody danced the night away with the amazing live band, The Grift. Hardly anyone was left in their seats.
Marisa and the girls got ready in the large suite in the main inn. The colonial architecture was evident throughout the inn, which has been in use since 1771, and has a long and fascinating history spanning 230 years. Marisa looked gorgeous and confident, even though I know she was a little nervous. A little spritz of her signature fragrance, Burberry Brit, and she was good to go, armed with a stunning wildflower bouquet by Michele Bernard Florals.
Meanwhile, the guys were getting ready over in the country lodge. I always find it hilarious when I go through the photos and see what the guys are doing vs. what the girls are doing at the exact same time prior to the wedding. In Evan’s case, they were munching on different kinds of bacon and sampling different whiskeys. The best! In fact, this shot of Evan’s wedding vows has bacon tongs in the background. #winning
Marisa’s mother Patricia made all of these adorable jars of canned pickles, sauces, salsas, and jams herself using organic produce from a local CSA share. These wedding favors were a HOT item, and people were definitely not leaving these behind. I’m pretty sure fighting ensued over them. I was lucky enough to bring home a tomatillo salsa verde which was amazing. Thank you so much!

My nephew Nate came all the way from Oregon to do his senior photos with me! While enjoying a week-long family vacation, we decided to venture out to Star Island on the Isles of Shoals Steamship Co. for Nate’s session. It was the perfect seaside backdrop for some beautiful summer photos.
Tony won’t watch So You Think You Can Dance with Melissa, and Melissa won’t watch scary movies with Tony–but beyond that, they are as complementary as they come. They first met as teachers at the same school-she was a dance teacher and he was a kindergarten teacher-and when they started dating (by all accounts from the toasts at their wedding), everyone knew that they were perfect together, being the kind of people that make everyone around them feel awesome and special. An adventurous couple, they relocated to South Carolina just because they wanted to try something new, and they easily fit in, with great success. They planned their New Hampshire wedding from far away, relying on friends and family back at home to help out.
Here are a few of my favorite images from Tony and Melissa’s wedding.
A little later, this happened….
Melissa and Tony danced to Van Morrison’s “Into the Mystic” for their first dance, because it was the first song they danced to when they first started dating, by the Jim Devlin Band, the very same band that now played live at their wedding. Way to come full circle!
Fantastic appetizers, passed h’orderves, and buffet dinner by Curt’s Caterers.
The sunset that night was one of the most amazing I have ever seen, with brilliant pinks and oranges that seemed to last forever. The Margate Resort looked so beautiful, with the ceremony tent overlooking the water, and the reception tent providing breathtaking views over Lake Winnipesaukee.
Melissa and Tony, thank you for being such a dream to work with. Your warmth and joy for your family and friends was a delight to capture. I know you will continue to thrive in the Lowcountry lifestyle!

I loved Stephanie and Joe’s peacock themed wedding….. it was vivacious and bold-just like her personality! She was a gorgeous bride, and her day was infused with her personal touches, from her unicorn pendant down to her blue tipped manicure! The day started out with the ceremony at her family’s church in Goffstown where her father is the pastor, and then the party continued on at Brookstone Park in Derry, NH with dinner, dancing, photo booth fun, a colorful candy bar, and finally ended with a jazzy sparkler exit.
Stephanie’s mother had the amazing idea to provide each table with their own tier of wedding cake. After Stephanie and Joe cut into their traditional wedding cake, the guests were delighted with being able to dig into their own (almost) personal tier at their table!
This was a very special dance with Stephanie’s Grandpa Joe….. who always vowed he would live long enough to dance with both her and her sister at their weddings….and he certainly has! What style and grace!
Stephanie was the life of the party, and kept the dancing going strong all night.
Some quiet moments with Joe in the waning evening light….
