Monthly Archives: April 2013

Again I had the pleasure of second shooting for Expose the Moment photography, and Gary is kind enough to let me share the images that I took. Big thanks to Gary for having me tag along on this delightful April wedding. The ceremony was held in the chapel of St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Manchester. Sue, the bride, looked radiant and elegant, and her bouquet from Harrington Flowers was the perfect color palette of delicate springtime pinks in roses and peonies. On a random side note, she completely reminded me of Mary from Downton Abbey in her demeanor and mannerisms (which I thought was awesome).

Harrington Flowers did amazing work with the bouquets, centerpieces, and altar arrangements. The huge altar arrangements did double duty by decorating the altar at the church ceremony, and then were brought to the reception where they flanked the sweetheart table, pulling together the pink theme of the room.

I swooned over the pink dogwood wedding cake. One taste of it and I knew it was the distinctive quality of Jacques’ Pastries, which I confirmed with the reception coordinator. There is absolutely no mistaking that artistic design and amazing taste (which I know firsthand because they made my own unforgettable Halloween-themed wedding cake in 2003).

I’m going to speak seriously here for a moment……  I learn something new at every wedding that I shoot, and what I learned at this wedding blew. my. mind. Do you know what a Viennese Table is??  It is, by definition, a dessert buffet, featuring a variety of fancy cakes, tarts, mousse, etc. usually served towards the last hour of the reception. I was just kind of standing there, agape, at the sight of it. This was in addition to the slices of wedding cake, served with chocolate-coated ice cream truffles, fresh whipped cream, and chocolate shavings.  I was so impressed!!

This wedding crowd turned out to be a spirited bunch, and they were so much fun on the dance floor!

Happy moments. That’s what I saw when I photographed Melissa and Ben’s wedding at the Bedford Village Inn. So many happy moments, big laughs, and shared enjoyment all woven seamlessly among the small gathering of guests.  I was warmly welcomed by Melissa’s parents who immediately felt like old family friends. They had a beautiful and small celebration in the Overlook Room of the BVI, surrounded by 20 of their closest family and friends.  Even though the weather that day had been so unseasonably cold, complete with rain, sleet, and snow, luckily by the evening everything had stopped so that we could step outside and take advantage of the soft cloudy light, and beautiful surroundings.

RestyleSource is a really cool new website that focuses on locally owned businesses. They describe their mission as (taken from their website) “We are the national guide to local shops, businesses and restaurants. Our goal is to reconnect shoppers with the real people and real stores that built America.”

I’m thrilled to have been featured on such a cool website. You can visit my photographer page here.
